Aspora Review (previously Vance)

Aspora is the new name for Vance, the money transfer app designed for Non Resident Indians (NRIs).

Aspora prides itself on offering customers the 'Google rate', with a low flat fee on top. For some users, there is no fee at all.

But can they offer the level of service required at such a low cost?

Read on to find out.

Aspora
Expert Rating
7.9/10
Aspora is a new money transfer company offering transfers to India from a select few countries, including the UK.
Sending money from the UK to India costs just £3 for UK customers - with your first transfer free.

Aspora is also available to customers in the UAE, Ireland, Italy and Germany.

We expect more countries to be launched soon, including the USA, Canada, France, Spain, Netherlands, and Singapore.

At the moment, Aspora only allows transfers into India. Sending funds out of India is not supported.

Aspora fees

Aspora charges flat fees. This is in contrast to other companies: Wise charges a variable fee, and brokers like TorFX charge no fees.

  • UK to India - £3 fee, with no fee for first transfer

  • Italy, Germany or Ireland to India - €3 fee, with no fee for first transfer

  • UAE to India - no fees at all currently

This fee is very competitive - especially for larger transfers. In fact, the larger the transfer, the cheaper this fee becomes. That's the beauty of a flat fee.

Aspora exchange rates

Aspora uses the mid-market rate, or as they call it, the 'Google rate'.

This means there are no hidden fees within the exchange rate.

Wise also offers the mid-market rate, but most other provides include some profit margin within their exchange rates.

Aspora limits

Aspora's website states that the following maximum transfer amounts are in place:

  • £400,000 maximum per transfer

  • €30,000 maximum per transfer

  • 150,000 AED maximum per transfer

App review

Aspora is an app-based solution, meaning you can't open an account or make transfers on their website.

Available on both leading mobile operating systems, Aspora's app is modern and straightforward.

It's clear that Aspora is positioning itself as a competitor to Wise. Wise is used as a comparison point from within the Aspora app - that's confidence!

From Vance to Aspora

Vance was founded in 2022 as part of the W22 batch at startup accelerator Y Combinator.

The company grew quickly, helping over 400,000 customers transfer more than $2billion into India.

In April 2025, Vance rebranded to Aspora, aiming to provide global finance for global Indians.

The company plans to expand into more countries, helping a wider pool of NRIs remit funds back to India.

Aspora also plans to offer more financial products, including savings accounts paying interest and other money management services.

Customer service & reviews

Aspora's app has built-in live chat. You can also contact Aspora by phone. Support is 24/7.

Around 10% of the app's reviews on the Play Store are 1*, and the majority are 5*. The pattern is pretty similar on the App Store.

There isn't a huge amount to separate Xe Money Transfer from its competitors, as far as its general offering goes.

Wise Review
Wise easily beats high-street banks for sending money abroad. That's right - forget NatWest or Halifax. Specialist money transfer companies are the way forward.
